About ShutterFeed Aerial
We're drone pilots, photographers, and tech nerds who got tired of reading misleading reviews and confusing legal guides. So we built something better.
Built by Pilots, for Pilots
ShutterFeed Aerial started in 2019 when our founder — a commercial drone pilot and aerial photographer — noticed a glaring gap in the market. Most drone content online was either written by tech journalists who had never flown a drone, or stuffed with affiliate links to products the author had never touched.
We started as a small blog writing honest, first-hand reviews. Within a year, we had tested over 20 drones and had built a loyal community of readers who trusted our word because we backed every recommendation with real flight hours and real footage.
Today, ShutterFeed Aerial is a full editorial platform with a team of certified drone pilots, aerial photographers, FPV builders, and drone law researchers — all contributing their genuine expertise to help our readers fly better, shoot better, and stay legal.
Democratizing Drone Knowledge
Drones are incredible tools — for creativity, for business, for science, and for pure enjoyment. But too often, beginners are overwhelmed by technical jargon, and experienced pilots are let down by shallow content that doesn't respect their expertise.
Our mission is simple: make professional-grade drone knowledge accessible to everyone. Whether you're buying your first drone or you're an FAA Part 107 pilot running a commercial operation, we have content built specifically for you.
"Every article we publish has to pass one test: would a real pilot trust this advice in the field? If not, we don't publish it."
How We Test and Research
We take our editorial integrity seriously. Here's what goes into every article we publish:
Real-World Testing
Every drone review involves at minimum 10 hours of flight time. We test in multiple conditions — wind, rain, bright sun, low light — to give you an honest picture.
Legal Research
Our drone law articles are researched directly from official government sources. We don't paraphrase third-party summaries — we go to the source.
Expert Review
Before publishing, every article is reviewed by at least one specialist in that area — either a certified pilot, attorney, or industry professional.
Regular Updates
Drone regulations and technology change fast. We review and update our articles quarterly to ensure the information stays current.
Our Core Values
Accuracy First
We check our facts, update our content, and correct our mistakes publicly. No ego, just accuracy.
Genuine Testing
We buy or borrow the gear we review. No freebies without disclosure, no recommendations without flight time.
Reader First
Affiliate revenue helps us stay free. But we never recommend a product we wouldn't fly ourselves.
Global Perspective
Drones are global. Our coverage spans 40+ countries and considers pilots in every region, not just the US.
